A place you might not know about at Disney’s Epcot.
One of my music “Personalities” is being an on-call musician at Disney World. I have been there since 1989 on a part time basis and it is always great to get the call and to see what today’s challenge is. My usual spots are Grand Floridian Hotel Lobby, Main Street USA playing ragtime , the Hoop-Dee-Doo Show at Ft. Wilderness and weddings at various places around the park. Yesterday’s wedding started with the ceremony on Sea Breeze Point at the Boardwalk. This is a great little outdoor gazebo overlooking a lake. It is wonderful for small simple weddings. Deems Timothy Herring was officiating. He is simply awesome. He does such a great job with the couples and makes every wedding seem like his first.
The reception was at the Living Seas in Epcot. The pictures are in a banquet room on the other side of the huge salt water tanks. It is a beautiful room and it has a Kawai acrylic piano. I’ve never seen or played anything like it. I just played the cocktail hour and then was on my way. It made for a nice treat after 2 masses in the morning.
So there is your “inside Disney” treat of the day!
